If I understand this correctly, the driver that will be racing in Super Gas is KURT Busch.
I believe he was the Nascar Champ in 2004.

According to the NHRA website:

Former Professional *or* Sportsman national champs will be confirmed entry to any national event in any category

Does that sentence say that you have to be a "Drag Racing" champion?

He is a former Professional National Champ (you ASSUME they mean in Drag Racing)

Maybe thats how he gets in?

I always thought the PAST CHAMPION deal had a "within 3-years catch"

Should make them "ALL RUN" anyway....

He may have bought her those bolt ons. Other photos seem to show a smaller fascia.

Yeah Im thinking changing to Endura or elastomeric bumpers has its drawbacks, it would seem that you are weakening something that when altered would suffer from added and obvious stresses , hope they dont crack under load.

Then again, if my "car" had a set of "bumpers" like that I would have little interest in racing......

I dont think Id leave my house for 2 years.

Thats the whole single point of racing, to become rich and famous (no im not serious) so I can get me one of them "New and Improved Models"

Totally different topic, but actually there are so many real fast S/C cars they should drop the class and most could run T/D.Same for some S/G door cars going to T/S.I'll bet this will get a few happy comments.

He’ll likely foot brake the car with a powerglide transmission and no electronics.
can you imagine the pile up in the back of the lanes for that one?

Ed, you should know better. ...There are only a very few SG DOOR cars that can run fast enough to qualify in T/S,There are practically no door cars in S/C........ Even fewer that meet the rules requirements....... Roadsters can't run T/S. .......I will only say to the other comment, that I compete in both Stock and S/G and have many friends in the Shoepolish classes who dont share your opinion. ...........Shoepolish and overweight cars in class are just another form of throttlestop. ........................Take a look at the thread on Busch on the Super forum,we are the ones directly effected by entries like this one. ..............Tom

I figured that would catch your eye Tom.I only added the S/G cars to spice it up.I do believe that alot of the S/C cars could be shuffled over to T/D with a 64 car field for divisional events. You're 100% right about these ringers being let in on a whim.

I'm aware of that Tom,still my opinion.I've never driven on the straight and narrow. No sense changing this late in life.
