There is a guy at exit 148 that builds a pretty good 396.

I forgot about that guy. Doesn't his name start with an "F" or something like that?

That Koppien guy is good too.

No, his first name starts with an S and his last name ends with an I... and his sons keep him very busy...

Hi all, I am an old bracket racer. I havn't been involved in racing for many years now and would like to get back into it with my son. I would really like to get set up in Stock eliminator. I used to run a big block chevelle in the brackets. I still like chevelles and would like to get another one. My question is can you all help me with some engine builders who are good with the 396 chevy and could build a very competitive engine? I don't care what part of the country they're in, I'd like to know who you think is the best. Thanks in advance.

396 would be good choice. lots of good engine builders on here but the best thing about a 396 is you never have to pull the oil pan off well unless you get protested lol :D

As a side note, the 69 Chevelle 427/425 is a good combination, and less likely to get hit with more HP soon. Also, the 70 Chevelle 454/450 is a pretty good combination as well. You do not have to build a 396 to run a big block in a Chevelle, unless you just want to.
