I would say, if you like that type of car, you should buy one already done and going fast.
Of course, I'm a little bit biased :

Re: engine question

You could spend $15K to $20K and years of your life to make what you have work, or spend much less $ and buy Mark's car. Your choice.

Re: engine question

Buy Marks car, you can not duplicate what he has done. He has been building record holders for 40 years, (you old fart) The price is right, the car is right and like John said it will save you a lot of headaches and you could be a record holder to start off ! What more do you need? Just learn how to win with it.

The question i have is i see alot of 305,307, i never new these enginges could be buit for drag racing, mind u im not trying to break records iwant a relible consistant car, any help on the engine specs would helpme understand them alittle better thanks awsome site

The main reason that most people build these engines is the fact that they are rated very soft. You can build one and qualify #1 just about anytime you really want too if you have a good car,if thats your thing. The combos you are talking about can actually afford to get hit and still go very far under the index.Thats why people build them, not because they think 305/307's are great engines. If there was a 350 that was rated that soft I'm sure folks would be building that instead because everyone wants to chase, not get chased..
