Re: sherman lifter help

I had the same trouble. As you bumping the motor over the things building pressure and pumping up the lifters. "Set it like a solid" now becomes pretty hard when things are moving around. I got mad and started setting them at .010 and or .015. When you run the motor over 3-4 revolutions it would close up and have like .005. Loose or tight did nothing for ET at all for me anyways. But im running another set this year and will be "setting them like a solid" again.

plenty of clearance between the rocker and spring. running behives.i got some top secret help with these so i'm going to try his way. on question i have is wouldn't you be able to adjust them according to the firing order? or does the cam duration make that not a good way to do that?

I run sbc hyd shubecks. I have never used Sherman's lifters I take they are adjusted just like Shubeck's? How do you compare the two? Which do you guys prefer? Last does Sherman have a web site or a contact number?

I know I am going to sound stupid for asking this but what does EOIC mean.

Alan,

When the Exhaust starts to open (EO), adjust the intake lash. When the Intake valve closes (IC), adjust the exhaust valve. Some people prefer firing order, others prefer EOIC. Either way works if you're consistent, although some people will swear that one or the other gained them mucho HP.

Jerry, Do you adjust the exhaust valve when the intake just starts to close or when it is fully closed? I do the exhaust when the intake just starts to close, is this correct?

Re: sherman lifter help

Bob, thanks for the contact. How do these lifters compare to shubecks in a traditional hyd. flat tappet? Can you run the same seat pressure? Can you use the same set from cam to cam? Thanks for the info.
