One of the nicest was the "Stormalong" car of Westberg and Westfall. Joe Scott had one too.

As for the no vin Cutlasses, the Wise Speed Shop car was one but I lost track of it a long time ago. Dave Wise and Dave Meredith had always run Camaros (including Wise's funny car) so it was quite a shock to see them in an Olds.

Willie Devore was awarded one from Olds that he made into a killer SSAS car. Had a stickshift with a real Olds engine in it. He won class at Indy 1986 with it.
I recall it was a diesel v6 test car and it has aluminum parts like trunk lid and other areas that were designed to offset the weight of the diesel. He did try an automatic for a brief stint. The trans exploded and pushed the floor up so bad he had to cut it out and replace it. No more automatics after that. He traded it to Scott Talgo. Not sure what happened to it after that. |
