Question? Did the Orange Crate S/W shown on page 13 become the car raced by
Al Etter/Don Studley? Possibley Joe Schweigert or Chuck Norton know the answer?

I do know when they sold their S/W it went to live in Florida, but that was back in the
80's.

Jimi,

You tricked me up,,,,,,,,,;)

Though 'Shaker' was the name Dave Kempton used on his 62' Plymouth
'Sport Fury',,,that he ran through 1967.

Did they buy his 383/343 HP Plymouth 'Sport Fury' car, and run it 1968
in (D/SA) or 1969 in (E/SA) before switching the Dodge Model #440
Station Wagon.

It will be interesting to see some details on the upcoming Mecum auction on the Polara convert pictured in a previous thread.

I found a 1962 photo of a white Dart Model #440-door Hardtop classed in S/SA,
with 413/385 HP lettered on the front fender.

What was it with those 4-door racers back then,,,,,,,,,,

Information states that these 1962 Dart Model #440 4-door Hardtops were listed as
'Executive Cars'

Phil: Etter and Studley ran a 62 Plymouth Wagon E/SA. The Orange Crate
was a 62 Dodge F/SA with a ton of lead under that vinyl Roof. I bought it as
a roller in later 70's and never put it back together. I think it ended up at
Santa Fe Springs Ecology Center next to John Greenwood 65 Plymouth
until they were crushed!

Jimi,
I'm glad you joined the conversation.
I remember being in your shop when you first bought the Behemoth and it was still white and blue. I still love that car.
Who bought the Trick Tank from Joe Kenney?
Frank

Anyone here know if this is Don Garlit's '62 Dodge original car or a replica of it...for some reason I'm thinking it was originally a black car from an old photo I seen years ago.

I bought this wagon in the late 70's with the intent of racing it in SS. I was too young and too broke run with the pack. But we bracket raced it for a couple of years. What a blast!! The wagon and 383/343 HP was always rarity and attention getter at any race.
