They have posted on of the NHRA Live features on sportsman racers and Art’s 68 GTO is the latest one. Have never seen the car in person and it’s amazing, cool story as well. Go to the NHRA Facebook page...

Dare I mention Kathy's Clown II and Larry Nelson's T 1000 sport compacts?
Might have to change the thread title ;-)

Hey Mark, you know a LOT more than me, about everything connected with drag racing. And, you seem to have a lot of clout here.

And, you seem to be needling me about these little 4 cyl engines, or whatever they are. When I began these threads, I had in mind mainly Pontiac V8's, from the '50's on up thru the 1981 301's.

I, personally would like to keep them basically that way. Maybe a good idea would be to start a thread on best 4 cyl drag engines/cars of all time, or something like that. I'd guess there are quite a few here who'd be interested in such a thread.

Back in the old days, we met a guy from our division named Dave Botkin. He had a very competitive Pinto, named Tumbleweed. I was not into 4-cyl cars, but this seemed like a very nice & friendly guy.

But, if you insist, 4-cyl info is welcome here. Or you can change the name of my threads to say "Pontiac V8 powered". It's up to you. Hey, I'm really a nice guy. I'm not here to offend any person in any way. Would like to get along with everybody here, if at all possible.

AND, I'd like to gather & post all the good Pontiac V8 powered class racing info I can. I don't know nearly all of the big Pontiac racers from the past. But some here do. I appreciate everything anyone can do to help gather this info. :)

Nope, not at all. The cars I mentioned were owned by some great, winning racers, using true Pontiac power. These cars would be eligible to race at most of the big Pontiac meets, too. I just want to make sure they're not neglected.
Not even going to jump on you for dissing well known Pontiac racers like Phil Szupka by saying you never heard of them. ;-)
All I can say about that is...Miss a day, you miss a lot here.
Miss 40 years,..well

"...Not even going to jump on you for dissing well known Pontiac racers like Phil Szupka by saying you never heard of them..."

How on earth can you say I'm disrespecting someone, just because I never heard of him ?

I even ask for info about him.

"...Sorry, but I've never heard of him. But sounds like a good guy to include. So, any of you guys who have info on his cars, please post it..."

Well, it's very obvious that you & me have VERY different ideas about stuff. So, I call a truce. If you don't like something I post, you can just not read my stuff. I'll definitely try not to say anything bad about you, here.

That's all I'll say about it. I'll probably just not respond to your posts. That way maybe we can coexist here. Or, if that's is not good enuff for you, just kick me off the site for wanting to post Pontiac V8 info. :)

I've found pics of what appears to be 3 different H-O cars. There's a white one, a black one, & a red one. The only one we saw live was red.

So, how many of these '74 Birds did H-O run ?

Also found a pic of what appears to be the red H-O car, with the H-O letters removed. It has Larry Pacey on the window. So, I assume Larry was the driver, at some point, after the car was sold. ?

I think Larry's name is associated with a famous Pontiac wagon.

So, can anybody sort all this out for us ?

Apparently the Judge set some nat records.

Any more info or pics of the white Lemans you mentioned.

Any more info on the wagon ? What was the last year it ran at Indy ? SS/KA seems like a pretty high class for a heavy wagon. So, was it 455 powered ?

the judge was run in ahra and nhra was original rockys gto out of Maryland I believe the 69 wagon was ihra and ahra and the yellow 72 was a 455 ho combination ran until 1980 when jerry switch to the corvette

I see several things that make this an old pic.

(1) It has Firestone slicks on it.

(2) It has solid Cragar Super Trick wheels on it.

(2) It has an H-O Racing Specialties decal on it.

(3) It has a Winston decal on it.

(4) It has a Crane decal on it. Don't think many have run any Crane stuff in a while.

(5) It has the old Competition Cams decal.

(6) Has an A-1 decal on it. Very few have used an A-1 converter in a while.

(7) Most of the other decals look old too. So, from what ya'll see, aprox what year would this have been ? My best guess would be somewhere between '75 & '85.

the 72 wagon was a 455 ho combo ran ss/ka had a comp cams 316 320 cam the motors were built by Hines racing engnes convertor was an a-1 3800 stall speed transmission was built by al Hamilton jerrys partner and it ran a 12 bolt 513 gear and 12.2 x31.25 w stone under it the car went back on the street in the fall of 1980 when jerry bought the corvette I think he started racing it in 1975 or 6 and I believe it won class or runnered up at indy once also
