On the other hand, if private tracks get hurt, *they* are going to put pressure on NHRA as well. As I had e-mailed NHRA the other day, I'm sure San Antonio and Milan racers are just 'thrilled' with their switch right now...

This is just a wild thought so try not to attack me as others have been attacked for their opinion or.....Max the wonder dog will bite your ear off.

What if we asked the IHRA to honor our NHRA membership monies with the promise that we could double their sportsman count and would race with them for the rest of the season?

Would the NHRA take notice......I doubt it, but at least we would be racing in a racer friendly atmosphere.

Re: Unmitigated Greed

Has anyone else noticed all of the no name, unsponsored "filler cars" this year in the Nitro Classes? Has anyone ever wondered why the HDP deal fell apart? They really have nothing to sell. They can barely get enough cars to fill the eliminators and my guess is that they are now paying half of the teams just to show up to put on a race. Since NHRA now has to pay to put on their own show, they're dumping these additional costs on the backs of the sportsman racers. This is the only viable explanation I can come up with to justify increases at this time.

Somebody please tell me I'm wrong about this.

I can see NHRA in the future threatening any member tracks with loss of sanction, races and racing series if they put on association races.Look at the threats to the pros about testing during the season.
Come on Jack, rebuttal time,as the unofficial NHRA spokesman that you are.

Ed, I think you are right, in fact I'm sort of surprised it hasn't happened before now. Jim

I understand that the Big Guys are not too thrilled with all this talk on here about a new association and all the regional groups. This is just a rumor, of course.....

Need a good laugh, Mark?
Just go to the Class guide and have a look at the HP factors for the 700+ HP 2008 CJ Mustangs...

If that doesn't send you into paroxsyms of laughter, nothing will,
Well, maybe the new Drag Pack Dodge factors.... they may be even better...
